Hello there. My name is Michael Corbett,
I am a Front-end developer.
Though I promote myself primarily as a front-end developer, I am comfortable integrating with backend technologies too. My current work environment is a LAMP setup with front-end tasks handled by Smarty, CSS and HTML.
I am a driven developer, I work well within a team or on individual tasks. I don't rest on laurels, I believe that my work and environment need to evolve with technology. To that end I like to keep learning, I am currently taking an online course on ReactJS. I am also learning Symphony 2, an enterprise level content manage system for web applications.
I'm an avid record collecting, technology obsessed, caffeine addicted husband and father.
I strive to write standards compliant HTML that is easy for others to read and understand.
Style sheets! Who doesn't love'em? Whether written raw or with my preferred preprocessor Stylus.
The Javascript Library I use most. Using the core functionality or extending with plug-ins.
All modern sites should be built to be device-agnostic. There is really no excuse for not doing so.
SoHalo has built an engagement-marketing platform that empowers digital marketers to acquire, engage and convert customers. My main tasks, as UI Developer, mostly focused on the adding features and streamlining the set-up process of our Admin section. I also setup and maintained their corporate and FAQ websites, which run on the Wordpress CMS.
My position on the Ticketfriend project was the lead UX Developer and site designer. All client facing and admin pages were designed and developed by me, I took particular attention to how the site responded on various devices and platforms.
The UAEYearbook Collection is a valuable information resource on developments that occurred in the United Arab Emirates over the 10 years between 2000 - 2010. It was a technically challenging website in so far as the content was in six languages including Chinese and Arabic.
